This five-day program takes you into the heart of the rainforest, traveling from Cusco to Salvación, Boca Manu, and the entrance to Manu National Park through the Limonal Ranger Station. The experience combines cloud forest, Amazonian communities, river navigation, forest walks, birdwatching, and wildlife observation. Salvación – Boca Manu – Limonal – Yine Community
This route visits Cabañas Terramanu and its small parrot and macaw rescue center, the native community of Diamante, a Brazil nut forest with a Harpy Eagle nest, Boca Manu, the Limonal Ranger Station, and the Yine community of Isla de los Valles.

Itinerary
Day 1 – Cusco – Salvación
Departure from Cusco around 8:00–9:00 a.m. by shared taxi. We travel through Paucartambo and the cloud forest, descending into the Amazon Basin.
Arrival in Salvación (500 m a.s.l.) and accommodation at Cabañas Terramanu, where there is a small parrot and macaw rescue center. At night, we take a walk at Machuwasi Lagoon to see insects, frogs, and other nocturnal animals.
Overnight at Terramanu Lodge – Salvación.
Day 2 – Salvación – Diamante – Boca Manu
After breakfast, we travel by shared pickup truck for approximately 4 to 4.5 hours to the native community of Diamante.
We visit a Brazil nut forest where there is a Harpy Eagle nest and take a guided walk to look for the chick or adult eagle. Then we arrive to Boca Manu by boat, located at the confluence of the Manu and Madre de Dios rivers.
Overnight at a local guesthouse.
Day 3 – Boca Manu – Limonal Ranger Station
Early in the morning, we depart by boat on the Manu River to the Limonal Ranger Station, the entrance to Manu National Park.
We walk along forest trails to see giant ceiba trees and wildlife. In the afternoon, we return to Boca Manu for a short walk on community trails.
Overnight at a local guesthouse – Boca Manu.
Day 4 – Yine Community – Return to Salvación
After breakfast, we visit the Yine community of Isla de los Valles to learn about their houses, daily life, and culture.
Then we return by shared pickup truck to Salvación. Free time at Cabañas Terramanu to rest and visit the macaw rescue center.
Overnight at Terramanu Lodge – Salvación.
Day 5 – Machuwasi Lagoon – Return to Cusco
Early visit to Machuwasi Lagoon for birdwatching, including hoatzins, horned screamers, and other local species.
After breakfast, return by shared car to Cusco, about 7 hours. End of program.
